Join us tomorrow for our September club meeting:
Stop the Parole-to-Prison Pipeline
on Zoom starting at 7:30pm
 
We have a vibrant panel of speakers to talk about the #LessisMoreNY Act, including staff from the Katal Center for Equity, Health & Justice, staff from the Center for Justice at Columbia University, NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman, and persons adversely affected by the current parole system.
 
The act has passed both houses of the legislature in June and now only needs Gov. Kathy Hochul's signature to become law.
 
The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp; the first half hour will be club business, with the forum starting at 8:00pm.
Come learn about this commonsense Criminal Justice reform bill, which has been endorsed by several D.A.'s and many other law enforcement officials, as well as over 300 civil rights organizations and community groups, and join us in Taking Action and asking Gov. Hochul to sign it ASAP.
State Sen. Brian Benjamin – recently nominated by Gov. Hochul to serve as our next Lt. Gov. - is the #LessIsMoreNYsponsor in the Senate. State Sen. Robert Jackson and Assemblymember Danny O'Donnell are co-sponsors of the bill.
