Re: Communication Magic

Today I received a copy of Communication Magic translated into Romanian.
Several years ago it was translated into Russian and since then into several
other languages. That both surprises and does-not-surprise me.

It surprises me in that Communication Magic is one of the more complex of
the books I've written. And there's a reason for that---it is on the first
and most basic NLP model--- the Meta-Model of Language. And there's just no
way around it, as a linguistic model, it involves language, linguistics, and
grammar. And for lots of people, such is difficult.

The difficulty is due in part because of the way language is taught in
school! And given all of the school phobias that so many adults have--- I
sometimes wonder if there's not a Teachers Training School somewhere that
trains them in how to create phobias of linguistic, studying, testing, etc.!

Of course, the Meta-Model of Language is not strictly about linguistics and
grammar, it is about how we process and experience language in our bodies
neurologically. That is, it is about how we process, represent, and feel
language. What language does inside of us. It is about our
neuro-linguistic experiences.

On the other hand, the number of translations of Communication Magic does
not surprise me. After all, the Meta-Model is the foundation of everything
done in NLP. So to not know the Meta-Model inside-out, to not fully
appreciate the power of the Meta-Model, is to not be as skilled as you could
be with NLP. And if that's true of NLP, it is even more so of
Neuro-Semantics.

I wrote Communication Magic at the bequest of Richard Bandler. Originally
we planned to name it, Magic Revisited because we aimed to publish it on the
25th anniversary of the Meta-Model. The first title was Secrets of Magic
(1997), then Communication Magic. What's new and different about this book
is that it traces the history and development of the Meta-Model and then
adds 9 new distinctions to create an expanded Meta-Model.

Anyway, I have recently moved and in the process discovered I have 10 boxes
of Communication Magic. So to reduce my stock of those books --- you can
get a brand new copy of that book for $19 plus shipping.

Communication Magic (2001) --- $19 special through Jan.

Also, Unleashing Leadership (2009) is the latest book in the Meta-Coaching
series and the Self-Actualization Series. $25.
