Good on you Doug!
If you don't mind me sharing this with you........
I just finished reading Games Slim and Fit about two weeks ago in preparation for coaching a women who wants to stop her "psycho" eating. We have only had one session so far, and I am really glad I read the book as I believe it will really help us with the coaching process.
Then I started reading "Self Actualization Psychology" (yes I read alot). When I got to page 89 I had a "Meta Moment" about food, love, comfort etc. I found that suddenly Games Slim and Fit People Play became a whole lot more clear. In fact I now want to re-read it with my new understanding.
I highly recommend you read Self Actualization Psychology if you haven't already (even if you just flick to page 89 to start with as it is a long book). I believe it will reinforce your break thru even more!

Subject: [Neurons] Games Fit and Slim People Play
I just wanted to report on my success with the "Games Fit and Slim People Play" book. Most of my life I have struggled with overeating and and the extra pounds that go with it. Last summer I got up to 185 pounds which is about 25 pounds too heavy for me. I was doing a lot of "psycho eating" as Michael calls it. I had read the book, had uncovered a lot of the frames about food I was using and decided to use the Mind to Muscle pattern once a day while driving to work to install a new frame that said I only eat when I am truly hungry. To make a long story short I am now thirty pounds lighter and psycho eating is a thing of the past for me.
What is even more satisfying than the weight loss for me is how effortless it has become for me to no longer overeat. The first few weeks I had to remind myself several times each day that I was building a new frame that I only eat when I am truly hungry and that I no longer eat for comfort, stress reduction, etc. Now the thought of overeating never occurs to me, I just automatically stop eating when I am full. Last summer I had a constant craving for ice cream, now I have absolutley no desire for ice cream or any other junk food for that matter.
Thanks Michael for writing this great book!
