Fellow Broadway Dems,

I'm hosting a No-IDC card-writing party for Robert Jackson, Jesssica Ramos
& others on Monday, August 27 at 6:30-9:30 pm at 80 LaSalle Street (party
room) between Broadway & Amsterdam (1 train to 125th street, ABCD trains to
125th street, Broadway buses to 122nd street or LaSalle street; Amsterdam
bus # 11 to 122nd street).

We'll be writing postcards asking voters to support the real Democrat on
their ballot. Just bring yourself, I will provide all supplies.

Independent Democratic Conference

The Independent Democratic Conference (IDC) was a group of Democratic
members of the New York State Senate that caucused separately from other
Democratic members of the State Senate. As of April 2018, the IDC included
eight members: Leader Jeffrey D. Klein and Sens. Marisol Alcantara, Tony
Avella, David Carlucci, Jesse Hamilton, Jose Peralta, Diane Savino, and
David J. Valesky. "Independent Democrat" is not a recognized political
party in New York State, so members of the conference have appeared on the
ballot as Democrats. Formed in 2011, the IDC allied itself with Senate
Republicans throughout its existence. During the 2013-2014 legislative
session, the IDC and the Senate Republican Conference controlled the Senate
jointly, as the Senate Republicans did not have sufficient numbers to form
a governing majority without the IDC.

*This year, Democrats are running to take back the NY State Senate.*

running against IDC members.*
