[BwayDems] Response to the Final Scoping Document re: JHL

Dear Neighbors, 

 

As you may be aware, the Final Scoping Document on Jewish Home Lifecare's
proposal to build a new nursing home on West 97th Street was released last
week. Please find my response to Commissioner Nirav Shah of the New York
State Department of Health attached to this email.

 

The Final Scoping Document omits the Community Facilities and Services
section, which would include a proper evaluation of the effect of
construction on P.S. 163. This omission is unacceptable. I will continue
to urge the Department of Health to comprehensively analyze every aspect
of this proposal, especially the impact on our neighborhood's children.
