Congressman Charlie Rangel and government organizations join to provide a Job Fair and Various Assistance to Local Veterans

WHAT: Presentations on veterans' healthcare, homelessness and benefits; oral history recording; and veterans' jobs fair; assistance with VA backlogs

WHERE: Bronx Community College of The City University of New York (2155 University Avenue, Bronx, New York 10453)

WHEN: Monday, November 4, 2013, from 9:00AM - 4:00PM

WHO: Congressman Charles B. Rangel (NY-13), The CUNY Office of Veterans Affairs, the United States Office of Veterans Affairs, Bronx Community College, and the Library of Congress Veterans' History Project, with veterans organizations

BACKGROUND: Congressman Rangel is inviting Veterans of the 13th Congressional District New York to attend a special event that will provide useful information and job opportunities to help improve their lives and provide assistance with VA backlogs. During the morning attendees will receive brief and informative presentations from the Veteran Administration, Department of Labor, and the Library of Congress's Veteran's History Project.  In the afternoon, a benefits and jobs fair will be held for Veterans to sign up for various programs. This day is an opportunity for the government to assist those who have selflessly served our nation.
