MIT has an authoritative and informative site updating developments in

Health and disease information from the CDC http://www.bt.cdc.gov/radiation/

The EPA has excellent information on Basic Radiation Facts 
http://www.epa.gov/radiation/

Long term energy discussion and commentary at The Oil Drum 
http://www.theoildrum.com/

(The US site of http://www.nrc.gov/  is only for domestic nuclear not 
foreign problems.  Save this)
