SECRETS OF INTEGRATION

The final stage of every expertise is integration.  When you finally develop your skills to a high degree of competence, and perhaps even to expertise, your skills will be fully integrated in what you do and who you are.  So, if you want to be an expert in anything, or even basically competent, you have to integrate what you learn.
 
To not integrate what you learn means you have gained lots of head-knowledge, but that you cannot execute what you know in real life.  You cannot transfer it in practice in real time.  This is what we mean when we talk about a learned incompetence. A person has learned a lot, but can do almost nothing.  These are the people who become Monday morning judges for those who are in the game on the weekend.  Failure to integrate means that what you know will make very little difference.   You will be stuck at an academic, abstract, and non-practical stage.
 
Integration means that you have brought together two or more separate skills and that you can now express them together, as a unit, at the same time in a singular expression.   When it shows up as a single response— that response is rich, has depth and quality to it.  How do we do this?
 
There are secrets of integration— principles about how to translate from mind to muscle, mind to body, how to embody what you learn so that they become your programs for actually being able to do something.  Those Secrets will be the subject of the ISNS “Wisdom” on Dec. 9.
