Michael's Meta Reflection series of Modeling Great Leaders. (Meta Reflections #4 -1/27/14, #5- 2/3/14, #6- 2/10/14) These are really a great read and I highly recommend them.
Michael used the example of Nelson Mandela as a great leader which I found to be an exemplary message.
It is extremely unfortunate that Michael did not get to model Mr. Mandela in person. I believe we lost some of his spirit and his inner meaning, by not being able to model the genius of this dynamic human being in person. However, Michael was able to glean some of the Genius of Mandela through the literary work of others.
Listed below are just a few of the Gem's I was able to take away from these reflections.
The application to Neurosemantics from his work is great. As a Collaborative leader, he was able to draw the most from the team by empowering his people. (Self actualization at it's finest) in part “We become our best selves through unselfish interaction with others.”(Mandela's way -Stengel)
Mandela used state management to apply “Calm control” to many situations such as the murder of his political rival that could have turned the nation to civil war without his intervention.
Discipline was a key factor in his personality. Self leadership comes first. If one cannot lead him or herself, how could the leader lead others? (L.M. Hall)
From Michael's Meta Reflections 2014 #5 (2/3/14)
What can we model from Mandela's leadership? What inner qualities did he demonstrate that would make for greater and higher leadership today?
His continuous learning and developing. He kept learning and adjusting and did not settle into a hard or rigid approach to things.
He worked on himself. He demonstrated what we call self-leadership in Neuro-Semantics and engaged in so much personal change that he changed his very personality.
He became highly reflective as he used the time he had to become more measured and disciplined so that he leadership was much more “on purpose” as a leader.
From Michael's Meta Reflections 2014 #6 (2/10/14)
Mandela's relationship to time as a concept as a mechanism for leadership
Perhaps one of his most shocking beliefs and messages to his followers was when he said: “I believe in seeing the good in others, that it might actually make them better.” (Mandela's Way 118). And, “It's best to err on the side of generosity.” (124).
I believe these apply the principles of Temperance and Abundance Two of the finest Neurosemantic principles.
These are just a few of the Gem's that Michael was able to extract from Mr. Mandela's spirit.
Along with that information I would like to offer the following in support of NS Video, for our continued development in the form of our Video download sale!!
March Lion and Lamb sale;
In the states we have a saying that if “March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb”(origin may be from England's middle ages). This is in reference to the Northern hemisphere Spring weather. With temperatures at 16 deg f (- 8.89 deg c) I believe it qualifies.
We are in the midst of our March Lion Sale… 50% off on all Download videos at NS video productions. (fortunately, we do not have any real lions, they … require special feeding and are really hard on the furniture) the lamb's are just cuteJ
This Lion size sale will last for 2 weeks and will go out like a lamb, so don't delay.
