The news of Shareef’s death in Egypt comes with great sadness.  Mohamed Abdul-Kawy in Alexander sent the following today to the Trainers’ egroup … If there was anyone who was a powerful positive influence in Egypt it was Shareef.   He will be missed!

Greetings,
 
It is unfortunate that my first writing to the NS community would be carrying terrible news; The NS/NLP and Personal Development community in Egypt mourns for the death of our fellow Trainer/Coach Shareef Gamal Seyam who was killed yesterday during the turmoil and unrest that the country is still experiencing.
 
He was arrested while he was helping injured demonstrators when the police forces raided the demonstrations. There are many sides to the story of his death, however the "official" story would be that while he was being transported for temporary detention by the police, a riot started in the escort vehicle and the police fired a tear gas inside the vehicle, therefore everyone died as a result of suffocation.
 
This is only the "official" story, the truth however, only God knows.
 
I am sure that many of you have met Shareef and got to know him personally, Shareef to me personally symbolizes the definition of of highly moral and ethical being; I have never met anyone that matched his moral, good character, authenticity, and his unimaginable strong belief in the goodness of humanity.
 
Despite all the separation and differences in ideologies among many, he never adopted a rigid one of his own, he was against oppression and was always for the good of the people. He is well know to support many of the charity organizations and start many initiatives of his own to support those in need.
 
He only supported and lived by the B-Values of self actualization and always believed that through dialogue, people can come to realize the goodness in one another and reach agreement.
 
To me personally, he was a true example of a self actualizing human being.
 
A humanistic thinker even without him knowing it, please take time to reflect on one of his many words that demonstrates how he believed in the good side of humanity
 
"The finest and noblest thing in life, are the meanings of humanity with its compassion and mercy. When one rises above the clouds, and transcends over hate, jealousy, pride, revenge and cruelty...so that you mourn for the sight of a dog hit by a car, or an ill criminal that is being treated and then punished, or a person that has been cruel to you so you repay them with kindness. The hearts of human beings hold death for all the meanings of the Devil (Evil). I pray that we stand forth before ourselves and examine, may God have mercy on our souls before it is too late"
