We have just completed another group of new Meta-Coaches- the last Coaching
Mastery training for 2008.  This one was in Pretoria South Africa under the
sponsorship of People-South Africa directed by Cheryl Lucas and Carie
Jooste.  By Day 2 everybody understood why we call it a "Coaching Bootcamp"
and were beginning to realize the full significance of what they had signed
up for!  The intensity of the program and the various elements designed to
raise the challenge, the bar, and the pressure is designed also to invite
the Meta-Coaches to develop the resources and frames for effectively coping
with pressure.

 

Our Team Leaders showed a high level of excellence in their group/team
coaching skills as well as in Team Leadership.  The challenge was made
explicit about learning when to put on one hat or the other.

Three of our Team Leaders were brand new to it and yet they raised to the
occasion and did a fantastic job.  Tim and Antoinette were back in the role
of the Team Leaders and so, they, along with myself, Cheryl and Carie,
benchmarked the competency skills.  And we were all impressed with their
skills and how they developed through the 8 days.

 

This was Tim's fifth time at Meta-Coaching and the fourth time on the Team.
Tim commented that being a part of the Team Leaders is one way that he uses
to keep his coaching skills refined and keep developing them to the next
level.  He said he uses the year Coaching Mastery of ACMC for his own
personal development.  And it really shows!

 

The exciting thing is that everybody got to benchmark level of competency
even with Meta-Questions and State Induction.  Our Expert Coach and Expert
Entrepreneur were a husband and wife team-a first at Meta-Coaching, Brian
and Zi Hattingh.  They are the co-founders and developers of Cycan which is
a Leadership Development Acceleration company which has many branches and
has branches in London and Dubai.  Cycan is also a Coaching organization or
more specifically a Meta-Coaching Organization which means that every coach
that works there is a Meta-Coach ( <http://www.cycan.co.za)./>
www.cycan.co.za). 

 

People-South Africa is committed to transformational change in people and
organizations and especially to the people of South Africa.  And soon we
will have the first Coaching Organization with two Meta-Coach Trainers in
it.  Cheryl Lucas is a one and Carie Jooste shadowed the process this year
and helped with some of the presentations and next Oct. (2010) she will be
co-training the process for her sign-off as a Meta-Coach Trainer.  This is
an exciting development in Meta-Coaching as it looks like we could possibly
have 7 or 8 fully certified Meta-Coach Trainers by the end of 2010.

 

Firsts on this training:

We had a father and son take the training together: Willem Fourie and his
son, Nico Fourie.

We had 7 Meta-Coaches revisiting and updating their skills. 

 

We almost had a National Training rather than an International one, almost I
say, becasue we did have one person come from outside of South Africa for
the training: Christian Tejidor from San Diego California.  What even more
amazing is that this was his first trip abroad from the US.

 

And again, immediately following New Zealand-everybody made the benchmarks
for the competencies of the skills!  That's says a lot about the quality of
the people who are being attracted to Meta-Coaching and to the training
skills of Cheryl and Carie in their training of Modules I and II for
preparation for this Module III.

 

Coming in 2009:  It looks like there will be at least 7 and possibly 9
Module III- Coaching Mastery coaching bootcamps that will be delivered in
2009:

Mexico, Colorado, Sweden, New Zealand, South Africa, Sydney and possibly
Panama or  Hong Kong.
