Michael,

Thank you for reminding us about humor at this challenging time in human
history.

As a neuro-semanticist, I am always interested in the mind/body connection
and I particularly like body to mind activities..

So I bring to attention, the different approach to gaining the healthy
benefits of laughter as used by Laughter clubs. Laughter clubs were started
in India by Dr Madan Kataria and his wife Madhuri Kataria contributed
breathing and stretching exercises from Yoga so that Laughter Yoga was born.
A group started telling jokes, jarring frames and having fun until the good
jokes turned personal and perverse. So, upon finding research showing that
the mind treats fake and genuine laughter as the same, the group began to
laugh for no reason. Laughter starting from the body and letting the mind
follow. These group activities evolved into hundreds of exercises using body
movements accompanied by laughing sounds and are effectively short
audio/visual jokes (slapstick?).

So what frames do you need to laugh for no reason? Being in the moment? The
suspension of meaning? Permission to be silly? Fun exercise time? Grateful
for being alive? Loving this minute? Optimistic about the next five minutes?

Ha ha, ho ho, hee hee
