re: Reflections on the 2008 Trainers' Training
We call it NSTT-Neuro-Semantic Trainers' Training. This is the licensing training that enables a person to train and certify NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner, APG, and Neuro-Semantic Practitioner. And we only conduct one NSTT each year somewhere in the world. We do that to create a community of licensed Trainers and Leaders in Neuro-Semantics who come into a community and learn how to be members fo that community.
The 2008 NSTT this year was our smallest group ever in any year; we only had 10. Yet they came from 7 different countries and represented the cream of the crop of new Neuro-Semantic NLP Trainers.
C New Zealand
C Australia
C Singapore (2)
C Kuala Lumpur (2)
C India (2)
C Mexico
C France
Yet while we had a small group, it was certainly the most bonded group and it seemed to myself, Colin, Lena, and Germaine that it was the most committed group ever. What's great about that is that this group of committed trainers follows immediately after our group last year (2007) which was a group of the most committed. So this indicates an exciting trend and suggests that we are attracting more and more committed people who are already totally sold on the Vision and Mission of Neuro-Semantics. In reflecting on this, I think it speaks about the power of the self-organizing attractor built into the Vision.
On the positive side, the smaller group enabled us to cover the material more quickly (there were less presentations) and so we zoomed right through the content and were able to add the Self-Actualization workshop to the experience. That gave each of the new trainers the right to train and certify that training as well. I didn't know about this when we started-even though Colin Cox and Lena Gray believed it was possible. As it turned out, they were right!
Within this group we had Trainers that already were NLP Trainers. They came to expand their training skills and add to their basic NLP repertoire the specialized trainings in Neuro-Semantics-APG, Living Genius, Self-Actualization, and many of the 30 some gateway trainings. They also came to be a part of a community of Trainers holding themselves to a higher standard.
This year in NSTT we added two new features to the program:
1) The Psychology of APG
"Accessing Personal Genius" training introduces the Meta-States model and applies it to the prerequisites of genius. This has been the flagship training of Neuro-Semantics inasmuch as it introduces Neuro-Semantics and provides the opening to Meta-Coaching. The Psychology behind APG enables trainers and coaches to understand the premises that govern the patterns so that they can more effectively facilitate the processes. The comment from everybody was that it was awesome to understand the power and premises.
2) Keynoting.
Regarding Keynote Presentations, this is the forte of Colin Cox. Eventually, we will get some of his keynote speeches on video and get it out on U-tube and other places. This will give Neuro-Semantics a real boost.
Self-Actualization Workshop
We also added the Self-Actualization workshop due to small group and the streamlining of time. This allowed each trainer to take the feedback they received from their presentations and use it as the content of the one thing to unleash. This also allowed us to link the new framing of Neuro-Semantics in terms of the Self-Actualization Branding. And while this will not be an inherent part of NSTT, we may make it a follow up Workshop immediately after NSTT.
For me the highlight of 2008 NSTT was the Graduation Night. There was the beautiful room set-up, the atmosphere of tables around a stage, low lights, candles on the tables, champaign, food being served at the tables, and the feeling that we were at the Golden Awards celebration. Then in that context the new Trainers spoke from their heart of their story, and the richness of the meanings of the experience.
