Re: The Coaching Bootcamp Experience
A Meta-Coaching Reflection
July 2008
The 21st Bootcamp of Meta-Coaching completed Saturday night, July 12, in Colorado with the graduation of the new Meta-Coaches. We had coaches from all around the planet - Australia, Mayalsia, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, and the United States.
And on Saturday night, "Somewhere over the Rainbow" was playing when the Ceremony began ... and ended ... reminiscent of Friday night when we used the same music for the Benchmarking Projects and the team leaders became the characters of "Wizard of Oz" - Dorothy (Germaine), Glenda the good witch of the North (Cat), Cowardly Lion (Jim), Tin Man (Mario), the wizards of Oz (Shane and Joe) and myself as the Scarecrow. [You had to be there!]
Other than the intense pressure of being benchmarked to a competence criteria and working in a group on a benchmarking project, some new things emerged. With the Team Leaders we came up with a beginning benchmark on how to get a KPI for a session. Somehow and for some reason, specifying a really clean and clear KPI for a session always seems to take several days for most people to really "get." And we have had requests in the past for a process and a set of benchmarks for getting a KPI. Now we have one.
Now also we have a Facilitation Model ... a model that provides guidance in how a coach facilitates the essential processes of coaching. And with the Facilitation model, the heart and essence of coaching as facilitation becomes obvious as it also becomes crystal clear that coaching is not giving advice, lecturing, training, therapy, consulting, etc. It is creating a relationship for a conversation like none other that gets to the heart of things.
Up and coming new Meta-Coach Trainers... two Trainers and Meta-Coaches shadowed me in this training and participated in co-training. This is the process by which a person can become a licensed Meta-Coach Trainer: Germaine Rediger (Belgium) was one, she is the new president of the Meta-Coach Foundation and Joseph Scott from Australia was the other.

What Participants are Saying: The feedback so far sings the value and benefit of the training using such language as "world class," "cutting edge," "the best in the field of coaching," etc. Here are some from the current group of Meta-Coaches:
Dave Thompson, Quebec, Canada
" The Training absolutely took my coaching skills to a whole new level. I feel empowered to help people make changes and guide them to powerful insights and realizations that can guide them to self-actualization. These skills will definitely take my business to a whole new level also."
Salina Lee, Hong Kong - NLP and Neuro-Semantic Trainer
"I appreciated very very much Dr. Michael Hall's inspiration which makes my life vision so much more meaningful and full."
Carven Yio, Hong Kong
"I am certified by two major International bodies to the Trainer level, do my own trainings and have a private practice. The time I stepped into the training room of this, I felt totally different. I was addressed by the trainer and Team Leaders warmly! Throughout the training, Michael showed how a master in the field look like whether it is presentation or demo. He proved himself to have solid and in-depth of research and knowledge. His humour in the presentation powerfully drives up your energy. I would recommend this training to any serious learners."
Ashton Braithwaite, California
"The Best Coach Training on the planet!"
Randy Marston, State of Washington, USA, Neuro-Semantic Trainer/ Therapist
"Not only do you get the source-Michael Hall; you also get an outstanding group of Team Leaders that vary in their approach and presentation. This allows the student exposure to many different styles of coaching and ways of being in the world. For me, the ability to learn by contrast is invaluable."
Niklas Daver, Sweden - NLP Trainer
"To me this takes Coaching to a totally different level, it gives you, as a Coach, the true ability to help clients get the faith and beliefs that will make them soar to their true potential as human beings. Wouldn't it be true adventure to be a fellow traveler on such journeys? What would it mean to you as a coach to have the coaching skills and tools that enable you to explore the client's inner landscapes of beliefs, values, and intentions from a mountaintop view?"
I stand in awe of the knowledge and ability to simplify the content and delivery from Dr. Michael Hall. He and his team of trainers are running the best Coach Training in the world for the quality and value I get.
Steve Belanger, Quebec, Canada
"I've done many trainings and I thought that I was a coach ... I was wrong! Now, I am a coach and I can explain what I do and what I can give to my clients. Priceless!"
Junichiro Takano, Ph.D. Representative partner at the 5W1H company, LLC, Tokeyo Japan
"Leaders in the 21st century are in need of accountability not only for 'performance' but also for 'meaning' (values, trust, significance, purpose, etc.). I guarantee the effectiveness of the Meta-coach Training for enhancing your leadership."
"Before Meta-Coaching, the lack of framework was the problem in the Coaching field. Now that the Meta-Coaching Training System has come, Coaching technology solidifies its theoretical foundation by use of 7 practical models (including the Benchmarking model) and the Self-Actualization Psychology."
