It was many years ago, 1996 I think, that I came upon the structure of a belief as a meta-state structure, that is, as a confirmed thought. That led to the creation of the Meta-Yes pattern for changing beliefs and for challenging the old unworkable "sub-modality" belief change pattern of NLP. I think we still have the original articles on all of that on the first website. They are also in the book, Sub-Modalities Going Meta.
As the next step, I have written a new article about beliefs and it is now on the website. You can find it under the title, The Magical Nature of Beliefs. Beginning from the meta-level structure of belief, I focus on the very nature of beliefs, especially as operating as a self-fulfilling prophesy.
Beliefs are crucial when it comes to exploring and transforming our Matrix of frames and meanings. After all, it is beliefs all the way up. So most of what a self-actualization coach deals with is beliefs.
