From macosx at rocteur.cc Sun Dec 13 05:11:15 2009 From: macosx at rocteur.cc (Jerry Rocteur) Date: Sun, 13 Dec 2009 11:11:15 +0100 Subject: [geeklog-users] Search does not work anymore Message-ID: <7464CFAA-A0DC-4F79-8663-E355DEDADBCF@rocteur.cc> Hi, I've upgraded from 1.4 something to 1.61 and everything went smoothly. I feel that the instructions could be improved or made clearer especially for people who at the recommendations of Geeklog developers in the past have moved the non public_html directories to somewhere out of the web servers doc root but this is not what this mail is about! When you search for something you are returned a blank screen! There is nothing in the geeklog logs directory that looks like it comes from the search, there is nothing in the apache error.log and you can see the search in the access.log 94.225.63.113 - - [13/Dec/2009:10:44:41 +0100] "GET /geeklog/layout/colors/images/logo.png HTTP/1.1" 304 - "http://www.rocteur.cc/geeklog/search.php?query=olympus&type=all&mode=search" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_2; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.249.30 Safari/532.5" I have tried with Firefox and Google Chrome just in case no difference. The server is Debian with Apache. http://www.rocteur.cc/geeklog/index.php I looked at FAQ and Documentation and searched Google. To my knowledge, everything else works with this release. I didn't change php.ini but I tried the debug. When I say a blank screen I mean an empty screen. When I do a search on anything I get a pages like this attached image. It does say search results, so this is not a blank page, it is empty. Nothing is returned ?? Or am I wrong ? Jerry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... When I was referring to a "blank screen", I meant completely empty. Looks like the search is failing. Is there anything in Geeklog's error.log that could have something to do with this? Hmm, maybe a plugin that isn't working with the new search? Could you try disabling all the plugins that did not ship with Geeklog and see if it still works then? bye, Dirk -- http://www.geeklog.net/ http://geeklog.info/ From macosx at rocteur.cc Wed Dec 23 04:29:39 2009 From: macosx at rocteur.cc (Jerry Rocteur) Date: Wed, 23 Dec 2009 10:29:39 +0100 Subject: [geeklog-users] Comment Submissions quirk In-Reply-To: <63735.153.98.68.197.1261560276.squirrel@webmail.rocteur.com> References: <63735.153.98.68.197.1261560276.squirrel@webmail.rocteur.com> Message-ID: <20091223092939.GA6292@rocteur.cc> On Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 10:24:36AM +0100, Jerry Rocteur wrote: > Hi, > > I'm trying to set up my Geeklog site so that anyone can post comments but I get to approve which comments are posted. > > What happens is that anyone can post a comment. Actually, you need comment.moderate rights to see the Comment Submissions. So you can add that right to one of your groups if you want to be able to moderate comments without having to log in as a Root user. bye, Dirk -- http://www.haun-online.de/ http://geeklog.info/ From dirk at haun-online.de Sun Dec 27 13:28:27 2009 From: dirk at haun-online.de (Dirk Haun) Date: Sun, 27 Dec 2009 19:28:27 +0100 Subject: [geeklog-users] Comment Submissions quirk In-Reply-To: <63735.153.98.68.197.1261560276.squirrel@webmail.rocteur.com> References: <63735.153.98.68.197.1261560276.squirrel@webmail.rocteur.com> Message-ID: <20091227182827.1521600607@smtp.haun-online.de> Jerry Rocteur wrote: >Dirk, I have not sorted out the search problem yet, I still have to try >your suggestion of deactivating all plugins to >see what is causing the problem It could also be a theme issue.
