From dirk at haun-online.de Sun Apr 3 11:47:17 2011 From: dirk at haun-online.de (Dirk Haun) Date: Sun, 3 Apr 2011 17:47:17 +0200 Subject: [geeklog-translations] Geeklog 1.8.0b1 now available Message-ID: As you may have seen, the first beta version of Geeklog 1.8.0 is now available: http://www.geeklog.net/article.php/geeklog-1.8.0b1 The new features do of course come with new texts in the language files that need translation. Probably the biggest changes come with the updated Configuration admin panel. There's a little duplication there (the text strings for the tabs) and a whole new section for the input validation. As usual, if you are preparing a new or updated translation and would like to see it included in the final 1.8.0 (to be released later this month), please post it here or email it to me or upload it on geeklog.net (and don't forget to zip/gzip it!). For languages that come in both UTF-8 and some other encoding, you only need to update one of the two - I can take care of the conversion to the other character set. We'll keep you posted about our progress towards the final release, so that you can send your translation in time. Thanks for all your continued support over the years. bye, Dirk From gape at gape.org Sun Apr 3 15:09:00 2011 From: gape at gape.org (gape) Date: Sun, 03 Apr 2011 21:09:00 +0200 Subject: [geeklog-translations] Geeklog 1.8.0b1 now available In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <4D98C5CC.1050509@gape.org> An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I've submitted my GSoC proposal [1] to Google and I wonder if you could have a quick look at it for me, please. Given that you were part of the mentoring side of GSoC 4 years, I'm sure you could give me some very valuable advice. Thanks for any help in advance. In other words, there were changes in the language files in this beta, which is something that we try to avoid but couldn't this time. Sorry about that. http://project.geeklog.net/cgi-bin/hgwebdir.cgi/geeklog/rev/3b6e87e0f0af There will be at least one release candidate before the final 1.8.0 release, so you still have some time to send in updated translations. bye, Dirk
