Is there anything else that needs to be done before we can release a beta of Geeklog 2.0.0? On a side note the Wiki will need a few updates about all the changes in Geeklog 2.0.0 (not required for this beta release): I still need to finish up the Topic Support stuff before the final release: (it is just filled with my notes at the moment) http://wiki.geeklog.net/index.php/Topic_Support We also need someone to update our themes wiki pages along with the themes doc pages (that explains all the template variables) which has sorely lacked some updates over the last few years. http://wiki.geeklog.net/index.php/Themes http://wiki.geeklog.net/index.php/Theme_Developers_Guide http://www.geeklog.net/docs/english/themevars.html We should also explain what COM_createHTMLDocument is and how it is replacing COM_siteHeader and COM_siteFooter http://wiki.geeklog.net/index.php/Geeklog%27s_way_of_doing_things There is also a number of spots when you search the wiki for COM_siteHeader that need to be updated with the new function. You have to change the config options Comment on Same Page? (?) and Show Comments at Replying? (?) to get them all to happen. The comment edit form will now not display at all if the title is an array, empty or equal to false. It assumes that if there is no title then the item the user wishes to comment on does not exist or that they do not have access to it. The old name still works and I have no intention of removing it from DNS any time soon. Existing local repositories will work with the new name after editing the .hg/hgrc file and changing any references of cvs.geeklog.net to hg.geeklog.net. I've also changed the tag in the commit emails to [geeklog-hg], but the name of the mailing list is still geeklog-cvs at lists.geeklog.net. It's probably not worth the hassle of renaming it. bye, Dirk -- http://www.themobilepresenter.com/ From komma at ivywe.co.jp Mon May 14 21:20:39 2012 From: komma at ivywe.co.jp (=?ISO-2022-JP?B?GyRCOiM2cEUvO1IbKEIgR2Vla2xvZyBJdnlXZQ==?=) Date: Tue, 15 May 2012 10:20:39 +0900 Subject: [geeklog-devel] Geeklog 2.0.0 In-Reply-To: <006301cd31f3$4830e3f0$d892abd0$@cogeco.net> References: <048301cd296a$622f9490$268ebdb0$@cogeco.net> <065001cd2d7c$9ae49a40$d0adcec0$@cogeco.net> <006301cd31f3$4830e3f0$d892abd0$@cogeco.net> Message-ID: Hi, Tom > 1. If no one else can get to these 2 issues this week I wonder if we should not just go ahead and release Geeklog 2.0.0 Beta 1? Bug List: 1) Seems to be still a bunch of E_ALL fixes to be made in the comment code. You have to change the config options "Comment on Same Page?" and "Show Comments at Replying?" to get them all to happen. 2) When creating a new story or submitting a story the default topic is not selected (the default topic also may be lost during upgrade to 2.0.0 (not confirmed)) The bugs are only minor so I don't think they need to be fixed for the upcoming beta release since it is not the final release. This way I just thought we would get some feedback from the community sooner. Thoughts, Comments?
