Ranked Choice Voting:Why, When, and How

 After years of careful study, New Yorkers in 2019 voted overwhelmingly to adopt Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). RCV does better at promoting candidates with broad support than a plurality election (the current system), since the winning candidate typically has strong first-choice support and receives a high number of second and third-place votes. It also saves money on expensive, low turnout runoffs.
