October Update!
*Dear Neighbor,*

Fall is here and the neighborhood is humming with activity! I've hosted
several events  - Including a huge Community Forum on the New Rent Laws
that many of you attended. If you couldn't join us, or still have questions
about the recently passed changes, feel free to call my office. I've also
had a wonderful time speaking with many of you at tenants associations,
street fairs, and community meetings.

Finally, I'd like to wish Shanah Tova to all my neighbors who
celebrated the Jewish New Year these past few days - may we all look
forward to joy, success, and peaceful times ahead.

International

Come for an information session with Department of Sanitation where you'll
learn how you can recycle food scraps, and start a composting program in
your building.

New York State’s nation-leading Climate Leadership and Community Protection
Act will require drastic changes to our transportation, buildings, and
energy sectors. This event will bring together experts across sectors to
explore pathways to achieving carbon neutrality. Panelists will include:

   - New York State Assemblymember Daniel O’Donnell
   - Michael Gerrard, Andrew Sabin Professor of Professional Practice at
   Columbia Law School
   - Julie Tighe, President of NYLCV
   - Others to be announced.

Our Rent Laws Forum was a full house! For those of you with any questions
on the new laws, feel free to contact my office.
My discussion with criminal justice advocates on Represent NYC is available

I've also worked with my colleagues in the Assembly to host two Census job
fairs to present opportunities available to our community in the upcoming
Census. The Census is incredibly important to our city and state, because
it advises the federal government in allocating resources, Congressional
seats, and achieving fair representation. To learn more about opportunities
