It's my birthday!
I wanted to reach out to you to say thank you for being a part of my life
throughout the years. Whether we met in high school, during the fight for
Marriage Equality, or while walking our dogs in Riverside Park, you have
contributed to my life in some way. That's why I want to take my birthday
as an opportunity to let you know that I've made a final decision about
whether or not I'm running for NYC Public Advocate... *It's a yes, I'm in. *I
will be making a more formal announcement soon, but wanted to tell you all
today. If you are able to donate to my campaign, information on how to do
that is at the end of this email. If you would like to learn more about
what I plan to focus on in my campaign for Public Advocate, that
information is also below.

Ensuring Transparency

Recently the Executive branch at the City and State levels have failed to
be transparent with the People of New York. I will fight for transparency
and have already set a precedent for it on my campaign by publishing all my
candidates questionnaires.
*Reaching Milestones* We must ensure the city is on track to meeting the
following commitments:
*2020* Ending the AIDs Epidemic
*2028 *Closing Rikers Island Jail
*2030 *Eliminating Trash to Landfills
*2050 *Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emmissions by 80%
Ending Homlessness
and Housing Insecurity The Mayor's plan to create 200,000 units of
affordable housing is a good start, but solving the housing crisis will
take a lot more than that. I propose a set-aside of 15% of new units to
house the homeless.


*How to Contribute*

I am participating in the Public Financing system, so your contribution is
matched by the City of New York* 6 to 1.* The maximum contribution is $2550
for individuals, $200 for those with city contracts. You can send a check
and a contribution card
