Dear Broadway Democrats,
(Curtis Arluck has kindly requested that I be able to post with the Broadway Democrats.)
As you know, the U.S. Senate will likely attempt to repeal the ACA this week or next. Rise & Resist is the main organizer of an urgent 24-hour vigil to "Save Our Healthcare" starting Weds. June 21 at 5pm in front of Trump International Hotel in Columbus Circle.
This will be a very visual event, with candles, posters, a banner, etc. It will also offer an opportunity for different kinds of leaders and constituents to meet together. The idea is that U.S. Healthcare is in critical condition and we are holding a vigil to save it. We hope to read the statements of 1000 people concerned about healthcare throughout the night. On Weds at 7:30 pm we intend to pair up with "Planned Parenthood’s Pink out the Night Event” which already has 150 accepts.
Here is the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/472122039789875/ <https://www.facebook.com/events/472122039789875/>
We're looking for co-sponsors and speakers. Would you be able to send either speakers or people to participate? We'd like faith leaders from 10-midnight on Weds., and elected officials from 7-9 am on Thurs., but any time you can come during those 24 hours is welcome. You can sign up here:
