[BwayDems] URGENT!!! Senate Gun Legislation! Filibuster?

Hello,
Congress
has returned to work today. One of the first pieces of business on their agenda
is gun legislation and we are seeing both the best and the worst of the Senate.
On one
hand, Senator Manchin (Democrat, West Virginia, 202-224-3954) and Senator Pat Toomey
(Republican, Pennsylvania, 202-224-4254) are meeting to work out some details
for gun registration legislation! Some of the changes being made are intended
to make it easier for hunters and close
family members to share or exchange guns, while maintaining the intent of gun registration.
On the
other hand, at least 13 Republican Senators are threatening a filibuster on any and all gun legislation! Led by
Senators Paul, Lee, and Cruz, the following Senators are refusing to allow the
Senate to consider ANY legislation on guns.

their Senators. Ask them to tell their Senators to let Democracy out, to allow the entire Senate to discuss this important
issue, and to give our elected Senators the opportunity to put their case
before each other and before the American people. In the words of Republican

on CBS’ “Face the Nation, “I don’t understand it. The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and
to let the people know where we stand.”
