As one of the primary authors of the Affordable Care Act which was signed
into law by President Barack Obama, Congressman Charles B. Rangel is
hosting a healthcare event to ensure that his constituents are well
informed about their various benefits provided to them as a result of the
healthcare reform. For example, the Affordable Care Act allows the American
people to have access to quality, affordable healthcare, and significantly
reduces long-term healthcare costs. It is also designed to put you, not the
health insurance companies, back in charge of your healthcare.

Congressman Rangel believes that it is important that everyone understand
the benefits that people have now and will have in the future. He has
invited *Dr. Jaime R. Torres, DPM, MS, Regional Director of the New York
Regional Office* for *Health and Human Services*, who has played a vital
role in Health & Human Services Department's effort to effectively
implement the Affordable Care Act.  There will be a question and answer
session with Dr. Torres immediately following his presentation.
